Friday November 2, 5 pm to 7 pm there will be an art opening at R. Condon Gallery, 223 W. Cook St. for the work of artist Kathy Kendzior Cummings.
Artist Kathy Cummings is interested in exploring watercolor and ink in nontraditional processes. Constrained by traditional views and critique, a self induced 100 day exploration of daily paintings pushed Cummings to release previously held beliefs. “Creating has become a way to express myself and connect with others through emotions evoked.” Cummings relies on photography and experiences in nature to guide her inspiration to create abstract images on both yupo and watercolor paper. Her process involves watercolor followed by ink to create depth, style and rhythm.
