In order to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors, we have moved our 2020 opening day to July 1. Please be aware that as news continues to develop about the coronavirus, we may adjust our schedule and event calendar further. The latest updates will be posted to this website as well as our Facebook page.
In the meantime, we are offering virtual tours of our historic site, which you can experience on your computer at home. Visit the Tours page on our website for more information.
We are now offering online tours for your enjoyment from the convenience and safety of your home. A docent will guide you through Fort Winnebago Surgeons Quarters and the Garrison School.
Since the tour is live, reservations must be made a minimum of 2 business days in advance. Tours last approximately 1 hour, and admission is a $10 flat fee. This is not a per-person rate. The cost is $10 per computer logged in, so gather with your family and friends.
After reserving a time slot and confirming your credit card payment, you will receive login information via email to join a conference call on your computer hosted via Zoom. During the call, you will see a pre-recorded video of our site, but the docent will be speaking to you live and has the ability to pause and adjust the video as necessary during the tour.
Using your computer's microphone, you have the option of interacting in real time with the docent. No microphone? No problem! Just use the chat feature on the sidebar to interact via text.
