EVENT DETAILS: Taste of Portage Half Marathon will take you on a beautiful run through Portage, Wisconsin past several of our community parks and the paved Levee path on the Wisconsin River. We will have t-shirts (register by 8/3 to guarantee), medals, and a huge downtown post-race block party/awards ceremony!
Bring your whole family and enjoy the race as part of our annual Taste of Portage Market Fair in downtown for the weekend. Friday night packets can be picked up at the event and you can stay to enjoy some live music and food. After the race on Saturday, you and your family can enjoy the downtown party with live music, kid’s entertainment, a classic car show, sidewalk sales and specials in our businesses and of course lots of food and cold beverages to enjoy!
The Taste of Portage Half Marathon and 5K will start and finish in downtown Portage at the Columbia County Administration Building, located at 112 Edgewater Street, Portage, WI 53901. There will be plenty of parking here and portable bathrooms to use.

Aspirus will be onsite with us! Aspirus is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor of this year's Taste of Portage Half Marathon. As part of our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community, we will be hosting a sponsorship tent to provide a welcoming presence for participants, volunteers, and spectators throughout the event.
Our Aspirus ambulance team will also be on-site as a public relations and community outreach opportunity, showcasing the emergency medical services we provide and helping community members learn more about the care available close to home.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by our tent to meet members of the Aspirus team, pick up Aspirus promotional items, and access basic first-aid supplies such as bandages and ice packs if needed.
We look forward to cheering on the runners and celebrating another successful community event in Portage!

Saturday, August 29, 2026
5:00am - Start Area Opens
5:30-7:00am – Packet Pickup and registration for Half Marathon and 5K at Columbia County Administration Building (112 East Edgewater Street)
7:15am – Start of Half Marathon at Columbia County Administration Building (112 East Edgewater Street)
7:30am – Start of 5K at Columbia County Administration Building (112 East Edgewater Street)
10:30am – Awards Ceremony at Columbia County Administration Building (112 East Edgewater Street)
11:00am-5pm – Post-Race Party at Taste of Portage downtown event with live music, food, beverages, and activities for kids.
LODGING
The Portage Best Western Resort Hotel & Conference Center (2701 South County Highway CX, Portage) is offering a special group rate for those staying over and who are in town for the Taste of Portage Half Marathon. To reserve a room at this special rate, call 608-742-2200. (Ask for the Taste of Portage Marathon Room Rate). The Best Western has recently been renovated, offers an indoor heated pool and a complimentary HOT breakfast.
